RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has allocated a budget of IDR 9.95 trillion (approximately USD 560.56 million) for seed supply for strategic plantation commodities in 2026. Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman said the program covers key commodities, including coconut, coffee, cocoa, sugarcane, nutmeg, pepper, and cashews.

The Ministry is tightening oversight of all seed suppliers to ensure funding reaches its intended targets. Evaluations are being conducted on the quality, quantity, and distribution of seeds received by farmers.

Minister Amran warned seed suppliers to comply with regulations. “If anyone violates the rules, we will not compromise,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, June 17, as quoted by Antara.

According to Amran, program supervision involves a task force, law enforcement officials, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Indonesian Military (TNI), and the National Police (Polri). These measures are being taken in light of the program’s significant funding and its impact on millions of farmers.

“No one is allowed to act arbitrarily. The State Budget must be allocated exclusively to farmers in the form of high-quality seeds that meet specifications,” Minister Amran stressed.

The Ministry has also established a monitoring system at the village level to track seed aid distribution in real time. “If the quantity is insufficient or the quality does not meet standards, it must be replaced and may be subject to legal action,” Minister Amran said.

He emphasized zero tolerance for brokerage practices or interference by certain parties in the program. “Those who perform well will be given greater opportunities. Those who do not, we will blacklist,” he added.

As a demonstration of their commitment to integrity, the Directorate of Plantation Seed Production and 198 seed producers from various regions signed an integrity pact to ensure transparency and the quality of seeds distributed to farmers. ***
