RRI.CO.ID, Makkah - Indonesia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has intensified efforts against Hajj-related violations and fraud. Ministry Spokesperson, Ichsan Marsha, made the statement during a press conference at the Makkah Working Area Office in Makkah on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Through the Saudi Arabia Hajj Organizing Committee, authorities are taking firm measures against misconduct. The actions target irregular practices involving Hajj guidance groups and several individuals.

The ministry said the campaign aims to protect Indonesian pilgrims from fraud and financial losses. It also seeks to strengthen transparent, accountable, and rules-based Hajj governance.

Ministry Spokesperson, Ichsan Marsha, stressed that violations harming pilgrims will not be tolerated. He said authorities remain committed to safeguarding worship activities from unauthorized transactions.

In addition, he explained that supervision teams uncovered several cases involving fictitious badal hajj and sacrificial payment schemes. Investigations also revealed attempts to exploit pilgrims for personal or group profits.

The ministry affirmed that most cases have been handled through guidance and corrective measures. Several parties agreed to return funds received from pilgrims and follow official procedures.

He highlighted the importance of maintaining integrity throughout Hajj operations. “We will not tolerate any practices that harm pilgrims and undermine the sanctity of Hajj. This enforcement is carried out to provide comprehensive protection for Indonesian pilgrims from fraud and transactions outside official regulations,” he said.

The ministry also warned pilgrims against unofficial offers related to Dam, qurban, or badal hajj services. Pilgrims are encouraged to use only official channels recognized by Saudi Arabian authorities.
