President Prabowo Emphasizes Pancasila Economy in National Ceremony

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s President, Prabowo Subianto, mentioned the role of the country's state principles, Pancasila, in facing the divided world and economic challenges. Pancasila combines five core principles in one set: "belief in the One and Only God, civilized and just humanity, unity of Indonesia, peopleness (democracy) guided by the inner wisdom out of deliberations/representatives, and social justice for all Indonesian people".

"In a world that is increasingly divided by conflicts, geopolitical rivalries, trade wars, and economic uncertainty, Indonesia possesses a strong guiding principle. That guiding principle is Pancasila," he said in his speech at the Pancasila Day ceremony in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Prabowo regarded Pancasila as "a great consensus", saying it is a national agreement that enables Indonesia — comprising thousands of islands with diverse ethnic groups, languages, and cultures—to live together as one nation. Regarding challenges on economic inequalities, he emphasized the concept of "Pancasila economy" as the goal of Indonesia’s ongoing economic transformation.

"My historic duty as the eighth President of the Republic of Indonesia, as a mandate holder of the people who was sworn in before the nation, is to carry out the transformation of our country, especially our national economy. A transformation from an economy that is not yet fully based on Pancasila toward an economy that is truly based on Pancasila," he said, as monitored from the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) on Monday.

Prabowo said that "Pancasila economy" is a religious, human-centered economy that strengthens national unity. In addition, his vision of "Pancasila economy" is an egalitarian one and aligned with national interests.

"We believe that natural resources are not merely economic commodities," Prabowo said.

"Natural resources are a trust from Almighty God, which must be managed responsibly for the greatest possible prosperity of the people, as well as for our children and grandchildren—for the future and for generations yet to come," he continued.

He claimed that his flagship programs under his administration are part of that transformation. Some of them are Free Nutritious Meals and Red-and-White Village Cooperatives.

"We are strengthening the downstream processing of natural resources. We are building national food security. We are strengthening cooperatives and the village economy. We continue to provide free nutritious meals to help build a healthy, capable, and intelligent Indonesian generation. We are strengthening education, healthcare, and human development," he said.
