RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, through the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, has officially entered into a concession agreement with PT Chandra Pelabuhan Nusantara for the operation of port services at the Chandra Pelabuhan Nusantara Terminal, Banten Port.

The concession agreement was signed by the Head of the Port Authority and Port Authority Office (KSOP) Class I Banten, Raden Yogie Nugraha, and the Director of PT Chandra Pelabuhan Nusantara, Edi Riva’i, at the Ministry of Transportation Headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The signing was witnessed directly by the Director General of Sea Transportation, Muhammad Masyhud. He said the cooperation is a strategic step by the government to optimize port services while also encouraging regional economic growth.

“We appreciate this initiative as an effort to improve the quantity, quality, efficiency of management, and maintenance in the provision of port services in the Banten Port area, as well as to increase state revenue through concession payments as Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP),” Masyhud conveyed.

He explained that the agreed concession period lasts for 56 years with a concession fee of five percent of gross revenue.

According to him, investment in the port sector, particularly in the Banten region, plays an important role in improving national logistics efficiency and regional economic growth.

“With proper investment, we can improve port infrastructure and services, which will certainly bring many benefits to the community and the local economy,” he said.

He added that the cooperation also provides legal certainty and business certainty for port business entities in carrying out port service operations.

Meanwhile, Director of PT Chandra Pelabuhan Nusantara, Edi Riva’i, said the concession marks a strategic milestone in strengthening the national logistics ecosystem, particularly in the petrochemical and manufacturing industrial sectors. According to him, the company holds a strategic position as one of Indonesia’s first private port business entities integrated with a chemical industrial zone.

“The presence and development of this port is expected to make a real contribution to the state through improving national logistics efficiency, strengthening domestic industrial competitiveness, increasing investment, creating jobs, as well as contributing to state revenue and national economic growth,” Edi said.
