RRI.CO.ID, Bandung – Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto, inaugurated the renovation of the Museum and Library of the Army Staff and Command School (Seskoad) in Bandung, West Java, on Monday, May 25, 2026. The country's Presidential Secretariat, in a release on Monday, said the inauguration emphasized the school's role as a "strategic educational institution that has produced many great national and global leaders".
"In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful, this morning, Monday, May 25, 2026, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate the renovation of the museum and library of the Army Staff and Command College (Seskoad)," Prabowo said.
Seskoad, managed by the Indonesian Army, is known for producing graduates who went on to become leaders of Indonesia. The country's second president, Suharto, the sixth president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and Prabowo himself are all graduates.
Four Chiefs of Staff of the Singapore Army are studied at the school. These include David Neo Chin Wee, who served as the chief of staff from 2022 to 2025, and the current chief, Cai Dexian.
At the Seskoad Museum, their history, journey, and dedication are displayed as inspiration for other trained officers. Colonel Desi Ariyanto, Head of the school's Struggle and Doctrine Department, explained that the museum is an important learning space for officers in understanding the history of struggle and leadership.
"The purpose of establishing this museum at that time was to serve as a place to explore all history because, as military personnel, we must understand, in particular, the history of war, military history, and within that history of war, there is also leadership," Desi explained.
In addition to the museum, Seskoad also has a large library with 42,000 books. Approximately 500 students, including 30 international students, attend the school annually.
"They learn here. In the museum on the first floor, they learn history. On the second floor, they equip themselves with abilities, skills, and especially intellectual skills, not just in military matters but also in government," Desi said.
