RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government continues to push export expansion into global markets as part of efforts to strengthen national economic resilience amid global economic uncertainty and the strengthening of the United States dollar (USD). The strategy includes strengthening international trade cooperation and expanding market access for Indonesia’s leading products.
Indonesia's Vice Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, stated that the government is actively conducting trade missions to several strategic partner countries. The move aims to improve the competitiveness of Indonesian products in international markets.
During the Launch of the Indonesia Export Potential Dashboard in Jakarta, on Monday May 25, 2026, Roro revealed that the government had recently concluded a trade mission to China. The mission successfully secured memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth approximately USD 88 million.
“And I just arrived last night, and earlier I also reported to the Vice Minister that we led a trade mission to China, and thankfully the MoUs reached approximately USD 88 million. This is truly an extraordinary achievement. We are showing the world that these are Indonesia’s leading products, and it turns out there is tremendous interest in these products,” Roro conveyed.
According to the Vice Minister, the strong interest from international markets in Indonesian products is a positive signal for strengthening national exports. It also demonstrates that Indonesian products are capable of competing and meeting global market standards.
The government is also continuing to expand export market access through various international trade agreements. In addition to Asia, Indonesia is exploring non-traditional markets considered to have strong potential for Indonesian products.
The launch of the Indonesia Export Potential Dashboard is also part of the government’s efforts to strengthen data-driven trade policies. The dashboard is expected to help regional governments and business players identify export-oriented commodities with strong market potential.
Besides expanding market access, the government is strengthening support for businesses and SMEs through business matching programs and international trade promotions. The government remains optimistic that these strategies will help maintain export growth and strengthen Indonesia’s economic resilience amid global pressures.
