RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Pandawara Group, a youth environmental community from Bandung, West Java, has brought honor to Indonesia by setting two Guinness World Records.
The group earned recognition as the environmental activist community with the most TikTok followers worldwide, amassing more than 12.1 million followers through its regular environmental education content.
They also set a record for the fastest unwrapping and separating of labels and caps from five plastic bottles, in line with their campaign urging the public to sort plastic waste before disposal.
“Hello world! Let us introduce ourselves: we are Pandawara from Indonesia. By the grace of Allah SWT, we have been recognized as the environmental activists with the most followers in the world (on TikTok). Thank you,” the group wrote on its official Instagram account, alongside photos of the two certificates.
Pandawara consists of five young men: Muchamad Ikhsan Destian, Rafly Pasya, Mochamad Agung Permana, Gilang Rahma, and Muhammad Rifqi Sadulloh. The group is known for its active involvement in environmental clean‑up efforts.
The group rose to prominence in 2022 after consistently posting content on cleaning rivers, beaches, and public areas littered with trash. Their social media activities drew public attention for raising awareness about environmental issues.
Through its content, the group also educates the public on the importance of cleanliness and proper waste management. Its consistency has made Pandawara one of the most recognized environmental communities in Indonesia.
This achievement marks an international milestone for young Indonesians advocating environmental issues through social media, showing that youth‑led campaigns from Indonesia are gaining global attention. (Gusti Panji)
