RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Letnan Jenderal TNI Tri Budi Utomo, directly reviewed the implementation of the Ideological Mentality and Mental Health Examination selection in the national recruitment of Human Resources for the Red and White Village/Urban Cooperative (KDKMP) and Red and White Fishermen's Village (KNMP) in Surabaya, East Java, Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

The visit was conducted to ensure that all stages of the selection process run transparently, objectively, and accountably in accordance with the applicable regulations. This selection is a subsequent stage after participants take the Cognitive and Competency Potential Test.

Out of the total participants who took part in the initial stage, 101,158 participants were declared successful and are entitled to proceed to the next stage to compete for the 35,476 positions available nationwide. In the review, Tri Budi Utomo emphasized the Ministry of Defense's commitment to maintaining the integrity and quality of the national selection process.

"This selection is carried out with the principles of professionalism, transparency, and accountability. We want to ensure that all participants have equal opportunities thru an objective and accountable selection mechanism," Tri Budi Utomo said.

He also highlighted the high enthusiasm of the younger generation in East Java who participated in the selection process. According to him, many participants come from prestigious universities such as the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Brawijaya University, Airlangga University, and Jember University.

"This is considered an indicator of the increasing trust among young academics in the KDKMP and KNMP programs as a space for serving the nation and state," Tri Budi stated. He emphasized the importance of the integrity of all committees and field implementers to ensure that the selection process runs smoothly and is free from practices that could undermine public trust.

In the Surabaya region, the selection process is centered in the Kodam V/Brawijaya area with a total of 12,491 participants. The written Ideological Mental Test was conducted at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, while health checks and interviews took place from May 21 to 31, 2026, at several designated health facilities and locations.

Nationally, the selection of KDKMP and KNMP HR will be conducted simultaneously starting from May 20, 2026, for the Mental Ideology and mental health tests, followed by health examinations and interviews from May 21 to 31, 2026, except during the Iduladha holiday on May 27, 2026.
