RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade facilitated business matching sessions between 31 Indonesian green economy companies and potential buyers from Japan on Wednesday, May 12, 2026. The initiative aimed to expand trade, investment, and technology partnerships in sustainable industries.

The event, titled Business Matching Sessions Indonesia-Japan, was part of the ASEAN-Japan Centre’s participation in The 2nd Indonesia-Japan Environment Week 2026. The environmental forum was held in Jakarta on May 11–12 and focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in green development.

Participants represented strategic sectors including recycled products, eco-friendly goods, waste-to-energy solutions, recycled raw materials, and environmental management services. Their presence reflected the growing strength of Indonesia’s green industry ecosystem.

Director General for National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said the forum was a tactical step to maximize the momentum of the Japanese delegation’s visit. “This forum is a concrete effort to encourage business partnerships, investment, and export growth to Japan,” she said.

Puntodewi added that the collaboration would strengthen Indonesia’s role in sustainable global supply chains. She said Indonesian companies now have greater opportunities to become part of the world’s green product market.

Meanwhile, Trade Ministry official Sugih Rahmansyah said the sessions were specifically designed to connect Indonesian innovation with Japan’s advanced technological needs. “We hope this meeting can produce real cooperation in investment, trade, and technology transfer,” he said.

Sugih noted that Japan’s strengths in efficiency, advanced technology, and sustainability practices make it a strategic partner for Indonesia. At the same time, Indonesia offers strong commitment to green growth, energy transition, and significant market potential.

Indonesian businesses welcomed the opportunity to meet Japanese buyers directly. Representatives from PT Rafandra Eternal Nusantara and Parongpong Raw Lab said the forum opened new prospects for exporting eco-friendly products and building long-term cooperation with Japan.
