RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - State-run Radio of the Republic of Indonesia (LPP RRI), one of the country’s national public broadcasting institutions, President Director Ignasius Hendrasmo is committed to making the 2026 World Cup broadcasts inclusive for all.
One step taken is collaboration with the Indonesian Association of the Blind (Pertuni) in the World Cup publicity program.
Hendrasmo said RRI aims to ensure everyone can experience the World Cup atmosphere. In addition to presenting sports broadcasts, RRI will expand access to inclusive public services.
“This collaboration is part of RRI’s commitment to providing inclusive and accessible public broadcasts to all levels of society, including those with visual impairments,” Hendrasmo said during a hearing with Commission VII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Hendrasmo confirmed that the public broadcaster RRI is preparing the broadcast program Pesta Bola Dunia (World Football Party) and, in collaboration with state-run public television broadcaster TVRI, Bola Gembira 2026 (Joyful Football 2026), through three main phases: pre-match, match, and post-match.
In the pre-match phase, RRI focuses on building public enthusiasm through various formats and digital content, including greetings, promotions, dialogues, trivia, bulletins, podcasts, and testimonials from sports figures.
During matches, RRI provides live coverage, including field reports and interactive discussions with audiences. It also shares content on social media and organizes group viewings in different regions.
Hendrasmo explained that this multiplatform approach accommodates dynamic changes in public information consumption. Audiences now access not only conventional radio but also social media, news portals, and digital podcasts.
“Therefore, RRI is present simultaneously across all channels. This ensures information is broader and more relevant to diverse audience groups,” he said.
Hendrasmo emphasized that strengthening digital platforms is key to keeping public media relevant amid changing consumption patterns. “This is not just platform development. It is part of expanding the reach of public services, broadening information credibility, and maintaining RRI’s presence in the national digital space,” he said.
This move is also backed by Law No. 8/2016 on Persons with Disabilities, which guarantees the right of persons with disabilities to participate in sports and to access sporting facilities inclusively. (Misni Parjiati)
