RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Creative Economy, together with the Solidarity of Women for Indonesia of the Red and White Cabinet, held a voice over and dubbing talent workshop in Pontianak on Tuesday May 12,2026. The program aimed at developing new creative talent amid the rapid growth of Indonesia’s digital content industry.

The workshop was held at the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia in West Kalimantan. It was supported by several institutions, including State Electric Company (PLN) and local craft councils.

Deputy for Media Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, said the creative economy has become a new engine of national growth. He cited official data showing the sector contributed Rp 1,611.2 trillion to Indonesia’s gross domestic product in 2025.

According to him, the sector also attracted Rp 183.01 trillion in investment last year. He said the expansion has created major opportunities for the voice over and dubbing industry.

“We want young talents not only to be skilled in using their voices commercially, but also to understand business aspects, intellectual property rights, and how to build personal branding on global platforms,” Cecep said.

Participants received training in vocal techniques, intellectual property protection, branding strategy, and professional networking. The ministry also highlighted its long-term talent development program, Wonder Voice of Indonesia.

Professional voice talent, Bimo Kusumo, discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on the audio industry in 2026. He said that while AI can imitate tone, it cannot replace human empathy or emotional storytelling.

Organizers said the workshop is expected to create new economic opportunities for young people in West Kalimantan. They also hope stronger cross-sector collaboration will help local talent compete professionally and turn voice over work into a sustainable career.
