Temanggung Farmer’s Cow Chosen Presidential Prabowo's Qurban Aid

RRI.CO.ID, Temanggung - A cow from Temanggung, Central Java, was selected for President Prabowo Subianto’s qurban assistance program. The local breeder, Muhammad Ihsan, Fauzi made the statement in Selopampang District.

The animal weighs around 1.02 tons despite being only 27 months old. Ihsan said he had raised the cow since it was five months old with intensive care.

The feeding method combines concentrate mixtures, leaf-based feed, vitamins, and mineral supplements. The concentrate feed contains palm residue, corn powder, coffee husks, cassava cobs, and rice bran mixtures.

In addition,Diego also regularly receives deworming medicine and vitamin B complex injections. According him, Simmental cattle grow faster and have stronger appetites than several other breeds. His farm currently houses 14 cows, including eight prepared for this year’s qurban season.

He admitted feeling surprised after local officials inspected the farm and selected Diego for presidential assistance. The selection process was conducted through surveys by the local agricultural agency.

“Initially, I never expected the cow would be selected. Officials conducted a survey, and thankfully our cow met the criteria,” he said. Head of Temanggung’s Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Agency Joko Budi Nuryanto said the assistance motivates local breeders. He added presidential qurban cattle must meet a minimum weight requirement of one ton.

The cow is scheduled for distribution to communities around Mount Prahu before Eid al-Adha prayers. Officials expect the delivery process to run smoothly on the celebration day.
