RRI.CO.ID, Jakata - The government continues to strengthen equal access to healthcare services for students through the Free Health Check (CKG) program in schools. The initiative is part of efforts to provide inclusive healthcare services while supporting the transformation of the national education system.

During a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 7, 2026, the government emphasized that the CKG program uses a proactive outreach approach to ensure that all children have equal access to healthcare services regardless of their economic background. Schools are considered strategic locations for the early detection of various health issues.

Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) Muhammad Qodari said the program also helps the government collect student health data more systematically. The data will serve as the basis for designing more targeted interventions in both the education and healthcare sectors.

“Through schools, the state takes a proactive approach to ensure that every child without exception receives the same basic services. Through the CKG program, the government obtains student health data in a more systematic manner, and this data becomes the basis for designing more appropriate interventions in both the education and health sectors,” Muhammad Qodari said.

The government believes that strengthening health services in schools is essential to improving the quality of human resources from an early age. In addition to general health screenings, the program also supports the early detection of infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis (TB).

As of May 3, 2026, the government recorded 241,013 TB cases detected across Indonesia. Of that number, around 84 percent of patients had started treatment, with a treatment success rate reaching 80 percent.

Meanwhile, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti said the strengthening of health services in schools is in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s policy of building a healthy and comfortable school environment for students. The policy has been translated into the “Building a Healthy School Culture” program.

“This has been further strengthened by President Prabowo’s policy on building a positive school culture. We have translated it into the ‘Building a Healthy School Culture’ program. A positive school culture means a safe, healthy, clean, and beautiful environment,” Abdul Mu’ti said.
