RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, received Palestinian media communication expert Tayser Hamdan Sulaiman at the Ministry of Culture office in Jakarta on Tuesday May 5, 2026, to discuss potential cultural cooperation in support of humanitarian efforts for Palestine. The meeting highlighted Indonesia’s continued commitment to Palestinian independence and global solidarity.

During the meeting, Fadli Zon, reaffirmed Indonesia’s longstanding position on Palestine. He said Indonesia would continue supporting the Palestinian people through diplomatic, humanitarian, and cultural channels.

“I encourage the Indonesian people, the government, and parliament to continue supporting Palestinian independence,” Fadli said. He added that public awareness remains essential in sustaining international attention on the issue.

The minister also affirmed the role of culture in shaping public understanding of humanitarian crises. He said museums, educational spaces, and thematic exhibitions could help present the realities faced by Palestinians to wider audiences.

According to him, cultural diplomacy can become an effective tool to strengthen empathy and global engagement. He noted that educational initiatives may also broaden international support for peace and justice.

Tayser Hamdan Sulaiman expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s warm reception and consistent support for Palestine. He said it is important to present complete narratives based on firsthand experiences to the international community.

During his visit, Tayser met communities in several areas of Sumatra and Java and plans to continue speaking at universities across Indonesia. He intends to share perspectives on conditions in Gaza, Jerusalem, and the West Bank.

The Ministry of Culture said the meeting reflects Indonesia’s commitment to supporting Palestine through cultural diplomacy, public literacy, and educational outreach. These efforts are expected to expand global solidarity and reinforce Indonesia’s contribution to the Palestinian cause.
