Indonesia Evaluates Priority Programs, Economy Grows Positively by 5.61 Percent

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. The discussion in the meeting was related to a comprehensive evaluation of various ongoing government priority programs.

The Head of the Special Development Control and Investigation Agency, Aris Marsudiyanto, made the statement on the same day. "Yes, we are evaluating everything that has been running, the current programs like that. And thank God, as of now, it has also been announced by the Central Statistics Agency that our year-on-year economic growth is 5.61 percent. This means that all of the President's programs have been proceeding effectively so far, thank God," he stated.

Based on the report from the Central Statistics Agency released on May 5, 2026, Indonesia's economy in the first quarter of 2026 showed positive performance with a year-on-year growth of 5.61 percent. From the production side, the accommodation and food service sector recorded the highest growth at 13.14 percent.

On the expenditure side, the government consumption expenditure component (PK-P) grew the most at 21.81 percent.

In addition to the economy, Aris explained that at the meeting, the President also directed that all levels of government continue to strengthen coordination and open constructive dialogue with all parties. Evaluation of ongoing programs is an important part of ensuring the effectiveness of government policies amidst global dynamics.

"I hope that all the nation's elites, especially the academics and observers, the President always opens up space for communication, democracy, and discussion. Please offer constructive criticism," He said.

With a combination of strict evaluation and open dialog, the government reaffirms its commitment to maintaining growth momentum while ensuring that every policy truly impacts the welfare of the people.
