RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is strengthening collaboration to develop a comprehensive halal ecosystem through cross-sector partnerships. The initiative was discussed during a working visit in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Head of the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH), Ahmad Haikal Hasan, welcomed the visit of Central Java Vice Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen. He praised the province’s strong commitment to advancing halal ecosystem development.

Haikal also said the collaboration reflects an integrated approach across sectors. It includes strengthening slaughterhouses, poultry facilities, and supervision of non-compliant businesses.

“I am very pleased with the visit of the Vice Governor. Strong cooperation like this is what we expect, and Central Java deserves to be a role model in building a comprehensive halal ecosystem,” Ahmad Haikal Hasan conveyed.

He added that the Central Java government’s support also includes land grants for institutional strengthening. This further demonstrates its commitment to building a sustainable halal ecosystem.

“This is an example that can be replicated in other regions, showing how local governments can actively build a comprehensive halal ecosystem,” he said.

He also highlighted supervision of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) across Central Java. Nearly 5,000 units are being encouraged to meet hygiene, sanitation, and halal certification standards.

Central Java Deputy Governor, Taj Yasin Maimoen, said the visit followed up on regional development planning discussions for 2027. The focus includes Muslim-friendly tourism and strengthening the sharia economy.

“We aim to make Central Java more Muslim-friendly, strengthen halal tourism, and increase halal-certified food products. We will use this consultation to improve supervision and support for MSMEs,” Taj Yasin said.

The Indonesian government continues to encourage broader halal certification and cross-sector collaboration. It aims to expand halal industry growth and improve competitiveness at both regional and national levels.
