RRI.CO.ID.Jakarta - Bhayangkara Hospital Tk.I Pusdokkes Polri is still carrying out the identification process for victims who died in the train accident in Bekasi. As of Tuesday morning, the hospital had received 10 body bags.

The Head of Bhayangkara Hospital Tk.I Pusdokkes Polri, Brigadier General Dr. Prima Heru Yulihartono, expressed his deepest condolences to all the victims’ families. He made the statement on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the National Police Hospital.

He explained that all 10 bodies received at Bhayangkara Hospital were female. Since 3:00 a.m. WIB, the bodies have been at Bhayangkara Hospital for further examination.

So far, seven families have reported to the Antemortem Post. They came to file missing person reports for family members believed to be victims of the accident.

The identification process is still ongoing. Bhayangkara Hospital is working with teams from the National Police Identification Centre, Metro Jaya Regional Police, local police, and National Police Headquarters. This cooperation aims to speed up and ensure accurate victim identification.

Prima Heru also explained that identification is done by matching antemortem data from families with post-mortem data from the bodies. Once all data is collected, the team will conduct a reconciliation to officially confirm the victims’ identities.

He urged families who have lost a relative to immediately report to the Antemortem Post at Bhayangkara Hospital Tk.I Pusdokkes Polri. Families are asked to bring supporting documents such as photos showing the victim’s dental condition, ID cards, diplomas, or any documents containing fingerprints.

He added that some bodies could not be immediately identified during the initial examination. These cases are still being investigated through further tests. In general, the condition of the bodies still allows for identification, although some have damage to certain body parts.

He also emphasized that the identification results will be officially released once the matching of antemortem and post-mortem data is complete.
