RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has affirmed that the government will take full responsibility for the victims of the train accident in Bekasi, West Java, by providing financial assistance. He also ensured that the victims received the best possible medical treatment.

“Yes, all the victims will receive compensation,” the President said briefly during a visit to the victims at the regency-owned public hospital RSUD Chasbullah Abdulmadjid (RSUD CAM) in Bekasi City on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Prabowo said a medical team is currently treating the victims, and most have been allowed to leave the hospital. “Everything has been handled well, as far as I can see,” he said.

In addition, the President expressed his deepest condolences on behalf of himself and the nation to those affected. He also ordered a thorough investigation to uncover the cause of the accident.

Further measures will focus on accelerating the development of safety systems at railroad crossings, particularly in densely populated areas, to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
