The UN delegation’s visit marks the third such engagement and reflects the tangible continuity of the close relationship between Polri and the UN. This ongoing strategic partnership reaffirms the joint commitment of both parties to support global peacekeeping. In addition, 51 Individual Police Officers (IPO) are assigned across five missions: 14 in MINUSCA, 19 in UNMISS in South Sudan, 9 in MONUSCO in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, 6 in UNFICYP in Cyprus, and 3 in UNISFA in Abyei.

The Deputy Chief of Police stressed that personnel safety remains a non-negotiable priority in every assignment. Polri will continue to emphasize security and safety for all personnel in mission areas and strengthen coordination with the UN to ensure effective field operations. He expressed hope that closer and sustained cooperation will prevent further casualties among global peacekeepers.

This meeting reaffirmed that cooperation between Polri and the UN will be continuously strengthened, with protection, security, and safety of personnel as the foundation for successful peace missions. Polri is also enhancing operational readiness through preparations for FPU Level 3 to address increasingly complex modern conflicts.
