Hajj Ministry Ensures Strict Food Supervision for Indonesian Pilgrims in Madinah

RRI.CO.ID, Madinah - The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah ensures strict multi-layered supervision of food services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in Madinah as arrival approaches on Sunday, April 19, 2026. The monitoring is conducted to maintain food quality, hygiene, and safety standards.
The supervision is carried out by the Ministry of Hajj in cooperation with the NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic supervisory team. They oversee the entire food preparation process from production to distribution.
Representative of the supervisory team, Nova MH, said all standard operating procedures are strictly implemented without compromise. Monitoring is conducted in three stages, including pre-production, cooking, and food distribution to hotels.
He further explained that inspections are carried out three times a day following the pilgrims’ meal schedule. Supervision begins early in the morning and continues throughout food preparation processes.
The following is his statement regarding the strict monitoring system applied in Madinah kitchens. He emphasized that continuous checks are conducted to ensure food safety and quality.
“Routine checks are carried out three times a day, following the pilgrims’ meal schedule,” he said.
Moreover, Nova added that supervision starts as early as midnight for breakfast preparation. Monitoring continues until the cooking process is completed in the early morning hours.
He also highlighted that food storage is regularly inspected to ensure ingredient safety and quality. Both fresh and dry ingredients are checked to prevent spoilage.
Given Saudi Arabia’s extreme weather conditions, maintaining proper food temperature is essential. Food must be kept at 60–70 degrees Celsius during distribution to ensure safety and quality.
Nova further urged pilgrims to consume meals immediately after delivery to maintain food quality. He also noted that nutritional balance is maintained through protein, carbohydrates, and fiber-rich menus.
