RRI.CO.ID, Madinah - The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah ensures catering services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in Madinah are fully prepared. A total of 23 catering kitchens have been deployed to meet pilgrims’ daily food needs.
Head of the Consumption Section of Hajj Workers in Madinah on Sunday, April 19, 2026, Beny Darmawan, said all kitchens have passed strict selection to ensure food quality, hygiene, and safety. He added that overall service readiness has reached 100 percent ahead of arrival.
The following is his statement regarding the readiness of catering services for Indonesian pilgrims in Madinah. He affirmed that all selected kitchens are fully prepared to serve pilgrims.
“All kitchens have been selected and are ready to serve Indonesian Hajj pilgrims,” he said. Beny explained that pilgrims will receive 27 meals during their approximately nine-day stay in Madinah.
The meals are served three times daily following Indonesian dietary patterns. He added that maintaining authentic Indonesian taste is a priority in food preparation.
In addition, all spices are imported from Indonesia in blended form to preserve flavor consistency. Each kitchen is also required to employ at least two Indonesian head chefs and four assistants.
This requirement has been fully implemented across all catering facilities. Beny further said special attention is given to elderly pilgrims through adjusted meal textures.
The Ministry also applies strict multi-layer supervision from raw materials to serving stages. Food quality is monitored at several points, including health clinics and pilgrim accommodations.
With these measures, pilgrims are expected to perform worship comfortably without food concerns.
