RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is reinforcing its national cultural ecosystem through cross-sector collaboration ahead of the Pradana Nitya Budaya Awards. Based on a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta on Sunday, April 19, 2026, the initiative focuses on revitalizing regional pavilions at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) as a national cultural showcase.

The Ministry of Culture stated that the awards, scheduled for May 1, 2026, serve as a strategic instrument to improve cultural governance. The program is also expected to accelerate the restoration and strengthening of cultural functions within the TMII complex.

During a strategic discussion with TMII management, Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, affirmed the importance of synergy between central and regional governments. He noted that such collaboration is key to optimizing the role of pavilions as representations of Indonesia’s diverse provincial cultures.

“Regional pavilions must become living and dynamic cultural showcases that reflect the richness of each region,” Fadli Zon said. He added that the revitalization effort targets not only physical infrastructure but also cultural programming and service quality.

The government is also formulating new policies on museum financing to ensure sustainable operations. “Through the ‘IndonesiaRaya’ assistance program, the government supports cultural communities in developing sustainable public space-based programs,” he said.

Meanwhile, TMII management reported that preparations for the awards have been underway since mid-March 2026. “We have conducted socialization, selection, and evaluation processes involving multiple stakeholders throughout the past year,” Acting President Director of PT Bhumi Visatanda Indonesia, Ratri Paramita stated.

A wide range of cultural programs has been organized to enliven the TMII area, including art installations and interactive performances. “Initiatives such as ‘Pertamanan Kaya Budaya’ and the Sampurian program from West Java are part of efforts to strengthen cultural activation,” Ratri said.

Besides, the government also plans to improve human resources through culture-based education initiatives. “The plan to establish a postgraduate arts and culture program at TMII will be further discussed in coordination with relevant institutions,” Fadli Zon said.
