RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang - The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasized strengthening global networks for Hajj management. The statement was delivered on Monday, April 13, 2026 during a Studium General and inauguration of the Center for Hajj and Umrah Studies (PSHU) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
Director of Regular Hajj Pilgrims Guidance, Afief Mundzir, said global dynamics are creating increasingly complex operational challenges. These challenges include health risks, pilgrim safety concerns, climate change impacts, and geopolitical developments.
He emphasized that stronger international cooperation is essential to effectively manage these growing risks. He delivered the statement before participants at the academic forum attended by stakeholders and experts.
“Strengthening global networks is an important key in mitigating Hajj implementation. We cannot work alone in facing this complexity,” he said.
He added that the government still faces limitations in building effective institutional networks across sectors. He stressed the importance of collaboration with universities for strengthening research, analysis, and policy solutions.
The PSHU is expected to serve as a dedicated research laboratory for Hajj and Umrah studies. It is designed to bridge academic theory with practical implementation needs in pilgrimage services.
Afief also stated that Indonesia is preparing adaptive and highly professional human resources for future challenges. These efforts aim to ensure fast, accurate, and effective responses to global Hajj dynamics.
He further confirmed that the national Hajj quota system continues to operate fairly and transparently. The government ensures the system remains stable despite ongoing public discussions.
