RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The House of Representatives has urged the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) to intensify public awareness campaigns regarding the non-issuance of furoda Hajj visas for the 2026 pilgrimage. Commission VIII lawmaker An’im Falachuddin said the move is crucial to prevent the public from falling victim to fraud.

An’im stressed that such campaigns must be conducted on a large scale to ensure the public fully understands that there will be no Hajj departures through the furoda route this year. He noted that some parties are still offering Hajj packages using furoda visas, which could mislead and harm prospective pilgrims.

“We ask the government to impose firm sanctions on parties who continue to offer Hajj departures using furoda visas. This is clearly misleading and has the potential to harm the public,” he said in Jakarta on Monday, April 13, 2026.

He also urged the public not to be tempted by offers to skip the Hajj queue through this route, emphasizing that Saudi Arabia’s decision not to issue furoda visas this year must be respected. “It is true that long Hajj waiting times have led people to seek alternatives like furoda visas. However, when these visas are not issued, every offer must be approached with caution to prevent people from being deceived by the promise of immediate Hajj departures,” he added.

Furoda Hajj, also known as Mujamalah Hajj, is a non-quota program that uses a special invitation visa from the Saudi Arabian government. It allows pilgrims to depart without joining the long official queue, making it attractive but also vulnerable to misuse when visas are not issued.

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, confirmed that Saudi Arabia will not issue furoda visas this year. He warned that offers of queue-free Hajj departures circulating on social media could be fraudulent and constitute illegal Hajj practices.

To prevent this, the Ministry of Hajj is forming an Illegal Hajj Prevention Task Force in cooperation with the Indonesian National Police (Polri). The task force will crack down on non-procedural Hajj departure schemes to protect prospective pilgrims from fraud. (Misni Parjiati/Lasti Martina)
