Pertamina Boosts LPG Supply Through Maritime Distribution

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: The Indonesian energy company strengthens LPG supply through maritime distribution operations. The statement was delivered in Jakarta on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

The update highlights recent tanker arrivals supporting regional energy resilience. LPG carrier MT Gas Attaka successfully docked at Amurang Integrated LPG Terminal.

The terminal is located in South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi province. The vessel carries around 1,700 metric tons of LPG cargo.

The shipment plays an important role in supporting LPG supply across Sulawesi and Kalimantan regions.

It ensures availability of energy for households and industries in those areas. The operation reflects ongoing efforts to maintain stable distribution.

Another LPG tanker, Gas Ambalat, also successfully docked in Kalbut, Situbondo. The vessel delivered LPG supply for East Java and surrounding regions.

This strengthens distribution coverage in western Indonesia.Vice President Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Muhammad Baron, highlighted the importance of maritime routes.

mHe said Indonesia relies heavily on sea transportation for energy distribution. The following is his statement regarding the operation.

“Amid global geopolitical dynamics, Pertamina continues to ensure energy distribution. Our vessels are on continuous voyages to deliver energy to communities,” he said.

He explained that Pertamina operates hundreds of vessels through its downstream subholding operations. The fleet consists of tankers transporting fuel, crude oil, petrochemicals, and LPG.

These ships serve routes across Indonesia, including remote and frontier regions.

A total of 345 vessels are operated, including owned and chartered ships. The fleet covers 57 underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions across the archipelago.

These include areas in Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua. He added that ship operations run continuously with rotating crews working around the clock.

This ensures safe and timely delivery despite weather and navigation challenges. The following is his additional statement regarding public participation.

“People can actively report suspected energy misuse through law enforcement agencies or Pertamina Contact Center 135. Pertamina also invites the public to use energy wisely according to their needs,” he said.

Pertamina continues strengthening operations across its integrated energy business lines. This includes increasing upstream production and optimizing refinery performance.

The company also collaborates with authorities to ensure proper energy distribution governance.
