Indonesia Highlights Rising Basketball Momentum at IBL All-Star 2026 in Bandung

RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Youth and Sports, Taufik Hidayat, attended the Indonesian Basketball League All-Star 2026 at Bandung Arena on Saturday, April 11, 2026 . His presence underscored the government’s strong support for the country’s rapidly growing basketball scene.

Based on the release received by RRI VOI Monday, April 13, 2026 during the event, Taufik expressed appreciation to Perbasi and the Indonesian Basketball League organizers for selecting Bandung as the host city. He noted that the event successfully drew significant public attention.

“We would like to thank Perbasi and IBL for bringing the All-Star event to Bandung,” Taufik said. “The public enthusiasm is remarkable, with a full and lively crowd, which is very promising for the future.”

According to him, the strong turnout signals a bright future for basketball development in Indonesia. He also affirmed the importance of collaboration between central and local governments in ensuring the success of national sporting events.

“The support from the Bandung city government has been excellent, showing strong collaboration,” he added. Such cooperation, he said, plays a key role in delivering a successful and vibrant event.

Meanwhile, Bandung Mayor, Muhammad Farhan, welcomed the event and highlighted the city’s growing role in the sport. He even described Bandung as the center of basketball development in Indonesia.

“This proves that Bandung is the basketball capital of Indonesia,” Farhan stated. His remarks reflect local optimism about the sport’s continued expansion nationwide.

The IBL All-Star 2026 featured a range of engaging programs involving players, celebrities, and fans. The atmosphere at the arena was further energized by Celebrity Games and competitions such as the 3-Points Contest, 1-on-1 Challenge, and Features Stars Challenge.

The event culminated in the main game between Team Yudha and Team Prastawa, which thrilled more than 4,000 spectators. Team Yudha secured a 117–106 victory, while AJ Bramah was named MVP after delivering an outstanding performance with 35 points and 20 rebounds.
