RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s tourism promotion strategy is entering a new phase through strengthened digital and media outreach. The government is working to expand the reach of tourism event information, making it more accessible to both domestic and international audiences.
The Ministry of Tourism has partnered with PT MDTV Media Televisi to boost exposure for the “Event by Indonesia” platform. This collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) focused on the integrated promotion of national tourism events.
Acting Deputy for Event Organizer Development at the Ministry, Vinsensius Jemadu, emphasized that partnerships with the media play a crucial role in building public confidence in event quality. He said the collaboration is expected to increase tourist attendance at each event.
“We want to ensure that every activity under ‘Event by Indonesia’ is not only well-organized but also achieves maximum visibility at the national and regional levels,” Vinsensius stated in Jakarta on Saturday, April 11, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
The “Event by Indonesia” platform serves as a digital database of events, from local to international scales, including the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) series. It is designed as an integrated information hub for the public to follow tourism agendas across regions.
Through partner media’s television networks and digital channels, the government aims to increase public participation while strengthening perceptions of Indonesia as a tourism destination. Coverage will be carried out through various formats, from hard news to soft features.
The partnership also includes joint development of creative content to reach international markets, including Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia. These efforts are expected to broaden the appeal of national events amid global competition for destination promotion.
The collaboration will run throughout 2026, with media partners supporting pre-event, event, and post-event phases. It also introduces creative interaction concepts such as the “Drama Series Meet and Greet,” integrated with local event stages.
The Ministry believes that optimizing promotion through an integrated platform will strengthen the national event ecosystem. This step is expected to improve event quality while expanding the reach of Indonesia’s tourism activities. ***
