RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the significant opportunities for national development following the successful recovery of forest assets valued at around IDR 370 trillion (USD 21.8 billion), equivalent to nearly 10 percent of the state budget (APBN).
“The Forest Area Control Task Force has successfully reclaimed state forest assets worth approximately IDR 370 trillion. This means that, over the past six months, the PKH Task Force has safeguarded nearly 10 percent of the APBN,” President Prabowo said during the handover ceremony for state financial and asset recovery results in Jakarta on Friday, April 10, 2026, as reported by Antara.
According to the president, the recovered assets represent not only financial gains but also resources that can accelerate development in key sectors, particularly education and basic infrastructure.
“With IDR 370 trillion, we can repair and modernize all schools in Indonesia, equip them with smart digital screens, and improve public sanitation facilities,” he said.
Beyond education, Prabowo noted that the assets could also support infrastructure development, which remains a challenge in several regions. He stressed that the recovery highlights the scale of past losses due to illegal land acquisition.
Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Deputy Chairperson I of the PKH Task Force, reported that from February 2025 to the present, the task force reclaimed 5,888,260.07 hectares of forest in the palm oil plantation sector and 10,297.22 hectares in the mining sector.
Of the total land repossessed, 254,780.12 hectares of conservation forest were handed over to the Ministry of Finance, including 149,198.09 hectares of conservation production forest in Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan.
Other areas include the Lae Kombih Grand Forest Park in Subulussalam, Aceh (510.03 hectares), and the Mount Halimun and Mount Salak conservation forests in Bogor (105,072 hectares).
The PKH Task Force also transferred 30,543.40 hectares to the Ministry of Finance, which then passed them to BPI Danantara and subsequently to PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara.
President Prabowo expressed appreciation for the task force’s performance over the past year and a half, describing the asset recovery as a strategic step to ensure state resources benefit the people. He emphasized the importance of maintaining and managing assets optimally to deliver tangible benefits to communities.
The government now faces the challenge of ensuring proper management so that the recovered assets can be used sustainably and widely for national development. ***
