RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang - The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is transforming the Hajj guidance system to improve services. Director General of Hajj and Umrah Management (PHU) Puji Raharjo highlighted the urgency of reform in Hajj services.

He made the statement during panel discussion session in Tangerang on Thursday, April 9, 2026. He urges professional, transparent, and accountable Hajj management for Indonesian pilgrims.

He stressed the need for a more outcome-oriented and comprehensive guidance system. The transformation is seen as a strategic step to improve overall service quality for pilgrims.

The panel discussion session gathered participants to strengthen coordination for the 1447 H/2026 Hajj season preparation. Puji also emphasized the importance of strengthening guidance across all service stages consistently. The approach focuses on improving pilgrim satisfaction and achieving meaningful worship outcomes.

"Future Hajj management must be oriented toward increasing pilgrim satisfaction and the attainment of mabrur (accepted) Hajj. This is achieved by strengthening guidance throughout the entire service cycle, from pre-Hajj and implementation to post-Hajj," he said.

Moreover, Puji explained that the ministry supports the long-term vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 through Hajj services. The focus is on building accountable and professional Hajj and Umrah management systems.

It also aims to deliver broader social benefits for Indonesian communities. He noted several challenges still faced in the current implementation of guidance services.

These include inconsistent quality among religious supervisors and limited use of digital technology. Integration of services from pre-Hajj to post-Hajj stages also remains not fully optimal.

As a solution, the ministry promotes a new and more adaptive guidance paradigm. It shifts from ceremonial approaches toward more transformational and impactful service methods. Services will also move toward personalized and needs-based guidance for each pilgrim.
