RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah signed the Minutes of Handover for SAR banknotes. The event took place in Jakarta on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

It ensures service readiness for 203,320 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. The handover was conducted through the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah Economic Ecosystem Development.

It also involved the official transfer of Saudi Arabian Riyal banknotes. These funds will support pilgrims’ living expenses during the Hajj pilgrimage.

Each pilgrim will receive SAR 750 for their living costs. This provision aims to ensure comfort and peace of mind during the pilgrimage.

In addition, it allows pilgrims to focus fully on their worship activities. The total value of distributed funds reached SAR 152.49 million.

This amount is equivalent to approximately USD 41.2 million. Distribution covers all registered Indonesian pilgrims for the 1447 H/2026 season.

Funds are distributed through 16 main embarkation points across Indonesia. Additionally, six intermediate embarkation points are included in the distribution network, in which this ensures timely delivery before pilgrims depart for Saudi Arabia.

Director General of Hajj and Umrah Economic Ecosystem Development, Jaenal Effendi, highlighted the importance of this program. He emphasized responsibility and integrity in serving Indonesian pilgrims. He noted that facilitating pilgrims is part of a sacred duty.

The following is his statement delivered during the handover process. He explained the importance of ensuring pilgrims have access to local currency.

The statement reflects the ministry’s commitment to service quality. “The distribution of living expenses is in line with the Minister's directive to ensure pilgrims feel comfortable, calm, and focused on their worship because they have access to riyals,” he said.

Moroever, Jaenal also stressed the need for thorough preparation across all stages. He said coordination is essential to ensure smooth operations during Hajj and Every service must be delivered effectively and on target.

The Indonesian government continues strengthening coordination among stakeholders for better services. The ministry ensures safety, comfort, and quality in every stage of the pilgrimage.
