RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Hajj Ministry hosted police Arabic trainees in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The visit involved participants from a Police Language School specialization program in basic Arabic training. The event took place at the H.M. Rasjidi Auditorium within the ministry complex.

The delegation was received by Director General of Hajj and Umrah Development, Puji Raharjo. He emphasized that Arabic proficiency is a key competency for Hajj officers serving Indonesian pilgrims.

The training supports better service delivery and stronger protection during the pilgrimage. Before continuing, he stressed the importance of basic Arabic mastery for officers.

He underlined its direct impact on both service and protection efforts. The following statement reflects his remarks. “Mastery of basic Arabic is key for officers to communicate effectively in serving and protecting pilgrims,” he said.

Furthermore, Puji conveyed that Indonesia involves military and police personnel in organizing the Hajj pilgrimage. This strategic measure strengthens protection from departure in Indonesia until pilgrims return home safely.

Capacity building efforts continue, including structured basic Arabic training programs. He added that this year’s Hajj marks the first full mandate of the Hajj Ministry.

Indonesia must prepare around 221,000 pilgrims within a relatively short preparation period. This occurs amid an ongoing institutional transition within the ministry. Before concluding, he addressed broader challenges affecting Hajj operations this year.

He noted the significance of institutional performance under current global conditions. The following statement reflects his concern.

“This is a major test for the institution, especially amid geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East,” he said. Puji also reaffirmed that service quality improvements will continue on a sustained basis.

Preparations for the next Hajj season will begin after the Arafah peak in July 2026. He reminded the public to remain cautious of non-procedural Hajj practices.

Before closing, he issued a firm reminder regarding official travel requirements. He emphasized compliance as essential for all prospective pilgrims.

“There is no Hajj departure without a Hajj visa,” he said.
