RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Air Force continues to strengthen efforts to improve the welfare of its personnel thru the provision of decent housing. In line with this, Air Force Chief of Staff, Air Marshal TNI M. Tonny Harjono, held a meeting with the Minister of Housing and Settlements (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, at Wisma Mandiri II, Central Jakarta, on Monday, April 6, 2026.

This meeting discussed the proposal for the construction of apartment buildings for Air Force personnel in the Lampung region. In the meeting, the Air Force Chief expressed appreciation for the government's attention to the needs of TNI AU soldiers, especially in fulfilling their housing needs.

"We would like to thank the Minister and his staff for their attention to the needs of the Indonesian Air Force, especially amidst the acceleration of defense equipment modernization which also increases the need for personnel and asset security, including in Lampung," the Air Force Chief of Staff conveyed.

The Chief of Staff of the Air Force affirmed that the availability of decent housing is expected to have a direct impact on improving operational readiness and the performance of soldiers in carrying out national defense duties.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, welcomed the proposal as part of the government's commitment to providing housing for state officials.

"Our party will follow up on this proposal by conducting a study on the location, land readiness, and financing scheme so that the development can proceed effectively," he said.

As an initial step for acceleration, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PKP) will send a team to conduct a direct survey at the location in Lampung to ensure land readiness and support the planning process for the construction of flats.

This meeting is a manifestation of the synergy between the Indonesian Air Force and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in providing decent housing to support the readiness of soldiers in maintaining national defense.
