RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Three Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel who were killed while serving in the United Nations peacekeeping mission under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were laid to rest in Indonesia Sunday, 5 April 2026. They were buried in their respective hometowns with full military honors after their remains were repatriated from Lebanon.

The fallen soldiers were posthumous Major (Infantry) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, posthumous Chief Sergeant Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Second Corporal Farizal Rhomadhon. They were part of the Indonesian contingent assigned to the UN peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon.

According to the Indonesian military, Zulmi and Nur Ichwan were killed while escorting a UNIFIL logistics convoy. The incident occurred when the convoy was struck by an explosion amid heightened security tensions in the area.

Meanwhile, Farizal Rhomadhon was reported to have died in a separate incident that also took place in southern Lebanon. Several other Indonesian peacekeepers were reported injured and received medical treatment following the incident.

After being returned to Indonesia, Major (Posthumous) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar was buried at the Cikutra Heroes Cemetery in Bandung, West Java. The funeral was conducted with a military ceremony as a tribute to his service and dedication to the nation.

Sergeant Major (Posthumous) Muhammad Nur Ichwan was buried at the Giri Dharmoloyo II Heroes Cemetery in Magelang, Central Java. The funeral ceremony was attended by family members, fellow soldiers, and military officials who paid their final respects.

Meanwhile, Corporal Second Class (Posthumous) Farizal Rhomadhon was laid to rest at the Giripeni Heroes Cemetery in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. The burial ceremony was also conducted with full military honors.

In recognition of their service and sacrifice, the Indonesian military granted posthumous promotions to the three soldiers. The Indonesian government also extended condolences while honoring their contribution to maintaining international peace.
