RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture has officially launched Dana IndonesiaRaya a transformation of the cultural funding program previously known as Dana Indonesiana. The initiative aims to strengthen government support for a more inclusive and sustainable cultural ecosystem across the country.
The program was introduced by Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, at the Ministry of Culture Complex in Jakarta, Thursday April 2, 2026. The launch marks the government’s renewed commitment to expanding access to cultural funding for artists and cultural communities nationwide.
Dana IndonesiaRaya continues the Cultural Endowment Fund utilization program that has supported numerous cultural initiatives in Indonesia. The renaming also reflects improvements in governance, broader program coverage, and enhanced services for cultural practitioners.
In his remarks, Fadli Zon, said the transformation aligns with institutional changes within the ministry and the need to strengthen program management. “This program was previously known as Dana Indonesiana, and we have now renamed it Dana IndonesiaRaya following the change in the ministry’s nomenclature,” he said.
He noted that the number of beneficiaries has increased significantly in recent years. “In 2024, there were around 346 beneficiaries, while in 2025 the number rose to 2,117 recipients from approximately 7,000 proposals submitted,” Fadli said.
According to the minister, the program is part of the government’s mandate to advance national culture as stipulated in the Indonesian Constitution. He affirmed that a jury-based selection process remains a key mechanism to ensure quality and accountability.
The government is also working to simplify administrative procedures through technology-based systems to make the service more transparent and accessible. “Going forward, we will continue improving and simplifying the process through an integrated application so that services can become better, more precise, and faster,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Culture Secretary General, Bambang Wibawarta, said the IndonesiaRaya Fund is designed to create broader and more inclusive impacts for cultural communities, including children, women, and persons with disabilities. “There is a professional jury team responsible for each substantive area, ensuring that the selection process remains fair and transparent,” he said.
