RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang: The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah opened exports of spice and ready-to-eat meals for Hajj 2026. The announcement was made in Tangerang on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
The program marks Indonesian MSMEs entering the global Hajj and Umrah supply chain. The initiative reflects a concrete step to support Indonesian MSMEs in reaching international markets.
Then, it also expands access for domestic products within global logistics networks. The program boosts economic opportunities through the Hajj ecosystem.
Director General of Hajj and Umrah Economic Ecosystem Development, Jaenal Effendi, said the program supports real sector development. He noted it is part of a broader strategy within the Hajj economic ecosystem.
The initiative aims to deliver tangible benefits for domestic business actors. The following is his statement regarding the program’s economic direction. He emphasized the importance of linking Hajj services with domestic economic impact.
The program is designed to strengthen MSMEs participation in the ecosystem. “We want to ensure the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem not only impacts religious services, but also provides real economic benefits for domestic business actors,” he said.
The exported products include instant spices and ready-to-eat meals prepared for pilgrims. These products have passed strict standardization processes for quality and durability.
They also meet internationally recognized halal certification requirements. The activity also serves as a logistics system trial to ensure distribution readiness.
It covers production, packaging, and delivery timelines to Saudi Arabia. This ensures efficient and timely delivery of Indonesian products.
“This activity proves that Indonesian MSMEs products can compete and meet global standards, especially for Hajj pilgrims’ needs,” he conveyed.
The program involves state-owned enterprises to strengthen logistics integration and distribution systems. PT Pos Indonesia manages supply chains, while Garuda Indonesia supports air cargo distribution. This synergy builds an integrated ecosystem from producers to logistics services.
The government views Hajj and Umrah as sectors with strong economic potential for national growth. It also increases added value of domestic products in international markets. Jaenal expressed hope more MSMEs will participate and expand production capacity.
