RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang - The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj oversaw the first export of spice paste and ready-to-eat meals for Hajj 2026. The release took place in Tangerang on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

It was conducted at the Garuda Line Warehouse, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The initial shipment reached 100 tons of logistics delivered in stages.

These products are prepared to meet consumption needs of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. The goods are sent to Saudi Arabia through coordinated air transportation.

The export process involved support from PT Pos Indonesia and Garuda Indonesia. Both entities ensured integrated logistics management and smooth distribution through air cargo services. This collaboration helps maintain efficiency and reliability across the supply chain.

Director General of Hajj and Umrah Economic Ecosystem Development (PE2HU), Jaenal Effendi, said the ministry oversees the entire distribution process. He emphasized strict compliance with logistics standards set for Hajj operations. This ensures proper quality control and timely delivery of all products.

The following is his statement regarding the logistics distribution process. He underlined key standards applied in every stage of distribution. These include halal assurance, health standards, product durability, and delivery accuracy.

“As the distribution supervisor, the ministry ensures all Hajj logistics meet halal, health, product durability, and timely delivery standards, so Indonesian pilgrims’ consumption needs are properly fulfilled,” he said.

The logistics shipment is scheduled across several flights from April 2 to April 6, 2026. Total demand from two vendors reaches 230 tons in this phase. The remaining 130 tons are still being arranged for upcoming flight schedules.

He also added that the export also supports domestic industry development and capacity building. It serves as a testing phase to meet international standards required by Saudi Arabia. This effort also aims to reduce dependency on imported products and improve efficiency.

“This also serves as a test run and capacity building, ensuring Indonesian products meet Saudi Arabia’s standards, reduce import dependency, and create cost efficiency,” he conveyed.

Moreover, the ministry emphasized that overseeing logistics reflects the Indonesian government’s commitment to Hajj services. It also strengthens efforts to build an independent and efficient national logistics system. These measures aim to ensure better services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims.
