Indonesia Explores Hajj Transport and Logistics Cooperation with KAI

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Hajj is exploring rail transport to support Hajj services. The discussion took place in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

It focuses on domestic transport and logistics for Indonesian pilgrims. The initiative was discussed by the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah Economic Ecosystem Development.

Besides, it aims to strengthen integrated services for Indonesian pilgrims. The meeting explored potential railway integration for pilgrim mobility between regions and embarkation points.

It also examined improving logistics systems to become more efficient and integrated. The plan supports smoother travel arrangements nationwide.

State-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia proposed a rail-based transport scheme. The scheme would help transport pilgrims in a more orderly and scheduled manner.

It is expected to reduce road congestion and improve travel certainty. In addition to transport, cooperation will also strengthen logistics services for pilgrim baggage.

PT Kereta Api Logistik offers integrated logistics services for distribution. The service can support baggage movement between regions and embarkation points.
