RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian government has decided not to raise fuel prices in April 2026.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said the decision was made after the government communicated with various parties and gathered input.
“The DPR appreciates the government for communicating with different stakeholders and listening to input, including from the DPR,” Dasco said in a press statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
He urged the public not to panic buy or hoard fuel, assuring that the DPR and the government will continue monitoring the situation to ensure fuel needs are met. “We are monitoring queues at gas stations in several areas. We urge the public not to panic; there is no need to queue,” Dasco said.
On the possibility of future price adjustments, Dasco explained that government coordination has kept prices stable. “According to the government, our fuel reserves are sufficient,” he added.
Earlier, state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina confirmed through PT Pertamina Patra Niaga that fuel prices would remain unchanged at all Pertamina gas stations as of April 1, 2026.
Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth MV Dumatubun, stated that the policy follows government directives that prohibit price adjustments for both subsidized and non-subsidized fuel.
“Pertamina Patra Niaga consistently implements government policies, including fuel pricing. We also continue to take strategic steps to ensure stable energy availability,” Roberth said in an official statement on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. (Misni Parjiati/Lasti Martina)
