RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesian Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, extended his official greetings for National Film Day, observed annually on March 30. He emphasized that film plays a critical role in documenting the journey and identity of the nation.
"Happy National Film Day, March 30, 2026. Film is a mirror that never lies in capturing the pulse of the nation," the Minister said in an official video release on Monday, March 30, 2026.
National Film Day serves as a pivotal moment to honor the evolution of Indonesian cinema and the invaluable contributions of its filmmakers. The Minister explained that every cinematic work is born from a rigorous process involving prayer, hard work, and the unwavering idealism of creators, which are the elements that form the foundation of Indonesia’s identity through the lens.
"Behind every frame created, there are prayers, hard work, and the idealism of filmmakers weaving the identity of Indonesia," he remarked.
Minister Fadli Zon further encouraged all filmmakers to continue utilizing cinema as a sanctuary for diverse voices. He believes that the silver screen should be a place where dreams flourish and a medium to immortalize the nation’s history.
"Let us continue to make the cinema screen a space for diverse voices, a place where the dreams of the nation's children find a home and our history remains eternal in the world's visual memory," he said.
The Minister also conveyed his deep appreciation to the Indonesian film community for their dedication, expressing hope that creators will persist in their craft for the sake of the nation's cultural future.
