RRI.CO.ID, Boyolali – Indonesia's Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, inspected a Central Javan cattle farm to ensure the integration of livestock sector strengthening, from livestock health to downstream-based industrial development. He invited regional governments to explore investment opportunities on livestock ecosystem.
Gibran Rakabuming inspected the Ampaslovers' Sayekti Farm in Boyolali, Central Java, on Friday, 27 March 2026. According to the country's Vice Presidential Secretariat, it is part of implementing President Prabowo Subianto's directive to strengthen national food security and improve the welfare of livestock farmers.
The Vice President, affirmed the importance of vigilance against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). Accelerating vaccination and early reporting by the public are some of them.
"Make sure all cows are vaccinated. And residents, ladies and gentlemen, don't be late in reporting. So if there's an incident, report it immediately. This will prevent an epidemic and spread," Gibran said on Friday.
In addition to disease control, Gibran also encouraged strengthening the livestock supply chain through downstream industry development. He stated that the development of integrated livestock processing facilities is key to increasing added value while maintaining sector stability.
"Immediately attract investors to build the factory. This is crucial. So, for the feed factory, everything from A to Z, there's a downstream process here. So, from start to finish, investors must be brought in immediately," he added.
Gibran also asked regional governments to immediately explore investment opportunities to develop a connected livestock ecosystem from upstream to downstream, including feed provision, product processing, and distribution. Furthermore, he assessed that strengthening the livestock sector would not only impact productivity but also create jobs and improve the welfare of the wider community.
