RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - A naval unit of the Russian Pacific Fleet officially docked at Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, to carry out a series of activities with the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), including joint military exercises.
The arrival was marked by an official ceremony attended by the Deputy Commander of Naval Regional Command III, Brig. Gen. Dian Suryansyah and Deputy Commander of the Russian Navy’s Northeastern Forces Rear Adm. Evgeny Myasoedov.
According to a statement from the Russian Embassy in Jakarta, the naval task force comprised three vessels: the corvette Gromky-335, the submarine Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky B-274, and the rescue tugboat Andrey Stepanov.
The visit is intended to strengthen diplomatic relations and improve interoperability between the two navies through technical training. “Joint exercises in maneuvers and communications are planned,” the embassy said in its statement on Sunday, March 29, 2026, as quoted by Infopublik.
In addition to at-sea training, the visit is part of military diplomatic efforts to maintain security and stability in regional waters.
While in Jakarta, Russian Navy personnel are scheduled to take part in coordination activities before beginning joint training with the Indonesian Navy. ***
