RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Navy's (TNI AL) newest warship, KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321, officially entered the Sunda Strait after departing from the Base Navale Della Spezia pier in Italy. The vessel's arrival was greeted directly by KRI Bung Karno-369 through a passing exercise (Passex) naval maneuver, showcasing a high level of professionalism.

Head of the Navy Public Relations Office, First Admiral Tunggul, explained that the Passex was carried out smoothly and with high morale. "This activity is a pivotal moment in strengthening coordination and operational readiness between warships to safeguard Indonesia's sovereignty," Tunggul conveyed in his official remarks on Monday, 23 March 2026.

This welcoming ceremony also reflects the interoperability and solidarity between TNI AL units in executing tactical procedures at sea. This momentum serves as evidence of the fleet's readiness to protect the national maritime jurisdiction from various potential threats.

After completing the series of activities at sea, KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 is scheduled to continue its voyage to Panjang Pier in Lampung. There, the ship will undergo a logistic replenishment before proceeding with its next mission to Jakarta.

The arrival of this ship marks a new historic milestone in strengthening Indonesia's maritime defense posture on the international stage. This transoceanic voyage represents a major success after overcoming challenges in both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.

First Admiral Tunggul, further said that the vessel would soon be commissioned to reinforce the Indonesian Fleet Command. "The plan is for KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 to be officially inaugurated in Jakarta in late March 2026," he said.

The presence of this new warship is intended to enhance the monitoring of Indonesia's strategic waters. The addition of the KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 unit will complete the lineup of defense equipment (alutsista) under the control of the Indonesian Fleet Command.
