RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto held a halalbihalal (post-Ramadan gathering) with the 7th president, Joko Widodo, during an open house event to commemorate Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Jokowi arrived with his wife, Iriana, and their youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep. At the palace, he was greeted by a guard of honor and welcomed directly by President Prabowo in the courtyard, near where his car had stopped.

President Prabowo and Jokowi then walked together along a blue carpet laid out in the courtyard before entering one of the palace rooms. Inside, the two presidents and their families exchanged greetings and conversed for some time.

In several photos released by the Presidential Secretariat, Jokowi and Iriana appeared in matching cream and light brown attire, while President Prabowo wore a light blue top. On the table, a variety of pastries and Eid specialties were served, including pineapple tarts (nastar), small cakes, and kembang goyang, Betawi's traditional cookies made of rice flour and shaped like flower petals

During the gathering, President Prabowo was accompanied by his son, Didit Hediprasetyo, who wore a top in a similar color to his father’s, along with a black cap. The meeting between President Prabowo and Jokowi was held in private.

On the same day, President Prabowo also held a halalbihalal with the 6th president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who attended the open house with his two sons: Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI).

According to an official press release from the Presidential Secretariat, the visits of the 7th and 6th presidents to the Merdeka Palace reflect the continuity of national leadership, maintained in a family atmosphere.

"This year’s Eid al-Fitr gathering provides a meaningful opportunity to strengthen bonds of brotherhood, foster harmony among leaders, and reinforce the message that unity is the primary foundation of the nation’s journey toward the future,” the release stated. ***
