RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang - Indonesia’s immigration services at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, have once again secured a place among the world’s top ten, according to the 2026 Skytrax rankings. The recognition highlights the airport’s continued success in delivering efficient, modern, and customer-friendly immigration procedures.
Skytrax, the London-based aviation rating agency, announced on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, that Soekarno-Hatta’s immigration unit met high standards across multiple categories in the World’s Best Airport Immigration Services. These included arrival and departure processing, border control efficiency, waiting times, queue management, priority lanes, e-gate technology, and staff professionalism.
“This is an extraordinary achievement. We have managed to maintain our position in the global top ten for two consecutive years,” said Acting Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas), Yuldi Yusman, during a press briefing at the airport on Friday, March 20, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
Yuldi emphasized that the award reflects Indonesia’s commitment to transforming and innovating immigration services, particularly at international gateways. He noted that Soekarno-Hatta also earned several other accolades: 22nd in the World’s Top 100 Airports, 8th in Best Airports in Asia, and 2nd in the category for airports handling 50–60 million passengers annually.
“Indonesia has demonstrated service stability through user feedback from around the world, covering aspects such as waiting time efficiency, autogate optimization, priority lane availability, and staff professionalism,” Yuldi explained.
Looking ahead, he said immigration services will continue to strengthen collaboration and innovation to ensure adaptability and responsiveness to global challenges. He also assured that preparations are in place to manage the surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Eid holiday season.
Minister of Immigration and Corrections, Agus Andrianti, underscored the importance of technology in maintaining competitiveness. “Technology is no longer optional, it is essential. We are committed to enhancing public service quality, advancing digital transformation, and providing fast, safe, and friendly services for all,” he affirmed.
This achievement, officials stressed, is not an endpoint but a motivation to further raise the standards of Indonesia’s immigration services on the global stage ***
