RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta -Indonesia-China High-Speed Railway (KCIC) reported rising ticket sales for the Whoosh service during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday period. Preliminary data as of March 16 showed total sales reaching around 133,000 tickets for departures between March 13 and 30.

The highest sales before Eid were recorded on March 18, with 19,000 passengers. Departures on March 19 had reached about 16,000 passengers by noon and were expected to continue increasing.

KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said the work-from-anywhere policy and public holidays contributed to the surge. She added that school holidays and congestion on toll roads made Whoosh more appealing to travelers.

“This increase in passenger numbers shows that people now have more flexibility in planning their Eid trips. They are no longer focused solely on the days immediately before Eid,” Eva said.

KCIC urged the public to book tickets early, especially online, to anticipate potential shortages amid growing demand.

“Ticket sales will continue, especially for departures closer to Eid. We encourage the public to book immediately to secure their preferred schedule and avoid running out of tickets,” Eva said.

Whoosh tickets for the Eid period are available through all official sales channels, including the Whoosh app, the ticket.kcic.co.us website, and partner apps such as Access by KAI.

KCIC also ensured that 352 Whoosh crew members remain in good health during the Eid transportation period.
