RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia accelerated the disbursement of Pesantren Operational Assistance ahead of Eid al-Fitr to support education continuity nationwide. The funds have been distributed since Tuesday, March 10, 2026, targeting Islamic boarding school institutions across Indonesia. The program focuses on strengthening operational readiness during the important Ramadan and Eid period.

The assistance covers several education categories within pesantren institutions across Indonesia. These include Formal Diniyah Education, Muadalah Education Units, and equality education programs in Islamic boarding schools. The distribution reaches institutions in many regions to ensure equitable access to education support.

The total allocated budget reaches Rp111.9 billion for 2,724 education units nationwide. It consists of 256 Ula level institutions, 1,361 Wustha level institutions, and 1,107 Ulya level institutions. The program aims to strengthen operational capacity and maintain learning quality across pesantren.

Director General of Islamic Education, Amin Suyitno, highlighted the importance of early disbursement policy. He said the measure ensures continuity of education services before the Eid celebration period. He also emphasized the government’s role in supporting pesantren sustainability.

“The disbursement of Pesantren BOS starting from March 10 is a form of the state’s presence in supporting pesantren education operations. We want to ensure that the learning process continues optimally and basic educational needs are fulfilled, especially ahead of the Eid period,” he said.

Director of Pesantren Basnang Said expressed similar support for the accelerated disbursement initiative. He said early distribution allows better operational planning for education activities in pesantren. He noted it helps institutions meet various essential educational needs effectively.

“The early March disbursement of Pesantren BOS is encouraged so that pesantren have readiness in meeting various educational needs, ranging from teaching activities, support for teachers, to strengthening learning facilities,” he said.

He added that the funds must be used optimally and accountably by all recipients. All institutions are urged to ensure complete administrative requirements before utilizing the assistance funds. Compliance with regulations is necessary to maintain transparency and ensure proper targeting of beneficiaries.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs expects improved education quality across pesantren programs nationwide. The initiative aims to strengthen the overall Islamic education ecosystem in Indonesia sustainably. It is also expected to support learning activities during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri.
