RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: Indonesia’s state electricity company PT PLN (Persero) has secured reliable power supply for Ramadan and Eid 1447 Hijriah. The assurance was delivered in Jakarta on Monday, March 16, 2026. President Director Darmawan Prasodjo made the statement after inspecting PLTGU Cilegon in Banten.
PLN projects national peak electricity demand during Eid to reach 35,017 megawatts. Available generation capacity stands at 51,967 megawatts nationwide. This leaves a reserve margin of 16,950 megawatts to ensure system reliability.
President Director of PT PLN (Persero), Darmawan Prasodjo, said preparations followed directives from President Prabowo Subianto and the minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. He stressed PLN’s full readiness to safeguard power across Indonesia. He then delivered the following statement.
“In accordance with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, PLN remains on full alert to ensure a reliable electricity system for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 across Indonesia,” he said.
He added that readiness was ensured through strict assessments conducted well in advance. Evaluations covered upstream generation and downstream distribution networks. PLN also reinforced monitoring during heightened public activity.
Primary energy supplies, including coal, gas, and fuel, are secured nationally. Transmission lines and substations completed maintenance before Ramadan. These measures aim to prevent disruptions during the festive period.
PLN has deployed 72,053 personnel at 3,700 standby posts nationwide. Operational support includes 4,901 vehicles and 4,594 motorcycles for rapid response. Security measures focus on mosques, transport hubs, shopping centers, and hospitals.
To support field operations, PLN prepared 2,005 generators and 773 UPS units. The company also readied 1,349 mobile substations and 429 crane trucks. These assets ensure reliable electricity for communities and industries.
In the Java–Madura–Bali system, peak load is projected at 22,453 megawatts. Available capacity reaches 33,497 megawatts, leaving an 11,044 megawatt reserve. PLTGU Cilegon, operated by PLN Indonesia Power, supplies 740 megawatts to strengthen the subsystem.
