To improve performance, the company continues introducing operational innovations in refinery systems. One major innovation is the Block Mode operating system. This system has been implemented at Cilacap Refinery since May 2024.

Operations Director of Refinery Pertamina Patra Niaga Didik Bahagia explained the importance of innovation. He highlighted the need to adapt to global crude supply changes. He emphasized maintaining refinery relevance in modern energy systems.

“This innovation is a way for refineries managed by Pertamina Patra Niaga to continue adapting to crude oil supply conditions and ensure refineries remain relevant with the times,” Didik said.

He further explained that Block Mode increases flexibility in processing various crude types. It also reduces dependence on imports from a single supply source. The system improves efficiency and helps control production costs.

“Block Mode is also an effort by Pertamina Patra Niaga to maintain fuel supply stability and improve crude processing efficiency amid fluctuating global market dynamics,” he added.

In addition, the company applies cocktail crude processing to enhance operational flexibility. This method blends several crude oils for more efficient refinery operations. Both innovations support Indonesia’s long-term energy resilience strategy.

With these systems, Pertamina Patra Niaga is ready to face increased fuel demand. Refineries operate continuously to ensure stable supply during Eid travel period. The company ensures smooth energy distribution for millions of Indonesian travelers.
