RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, General TNI (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago, conducted a direct inspection of Eid "mudik" readiness at Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Jakarta, on Monday, March 16, 2026. This visit aimed to ensure that all transportation services and security aspects for the public operate optimally ahead of the peak travel period.
During the visit, Djamari was accompanied by the Head of Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Revi Zulkarnain, to inspect various vital facilities for passengers. They monitored everything from health posts to the provision of reading corners, which were established to enhance public comfort while waiting for departures.
The government undertook this evaluation as a routine effort to improve the quality of public services in the transportation sector every year. Djamari emphasized the importance of synergy between agencies to ensure this year's homebound travel proceeds better than in previous years.
Regarding the service, the Minister reaffirmed the government's full commitment to safeguarding travelers who wish to reunite with their relatives. “We are determined to provide comfort and security to the people returning home to gather with their families," Djamari stated.
He also ensured that the same level of service would be consistently provided through the upcoming return flow period. "We will also fully serve those returning after spending time with their families during the return travel season,” he said.
Djamari further noted that the government will continue to strictly monitor major transportation hubs across Indonesia to guarantee citizen safety. This supervision includes checking the readiness of bus fleets and the feasibility of facilities at other major terminals.
In closing, he urged all prospective travelers to remain disciplined and pay close attention to their departure schedules. Travelers are also expected to maintain their physical health throughout the long journey to their respective hometowns.
