RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs has reminded all civil servants (ASN) in its work units to uphold integrity and reject all forms of gratuities ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026.

The Ministry's Inspector General Khairunnas emphasized that ministry civil servants must serve as role models for the public by maintaining integrity, professionalism, and ethics in carrying out their duties.

“Civil servants of the Ministry must act as good role models for the public by neither giving nor accepting gratuities related to their positions that conflict with their duties,” Khairunnas said in an appeal issued in Jakarta on Friday, March 13, 2026, as quoted on the ministry’s official website.

He stressed that soliciting funds or gifts for holiday allowances (THR), whether individually or on behalf of the institution, is prohibited. “Such practices could constitute a criminal act of corruption,” he said.

Khairunnas also reminded civil servants not to use official facilities for personal interests, including official vehicles for Eid travel or non-official activities. “Official facilities are only to be used for official duties,” he said.

Civil servants are urged to continue performing their duties with discipline and professionalism during the adjustment period for official tasks before and after the holiday. These adjustments apply on March 16–17 and March 25–27, in line with national holidays and collective leave for Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr.

Khairunnas further noted that if civil servants receive gratuities related to their positions that conflict with their duties, they must report them to the Gratuity Control Unit (UPG) within 30 working days of receipt.

Gratuities in the form of perishable food or beverages may be distributed as social assistance to orphanages, nursing homes, or other recipients in need, but must still be reported to the UPG with documentation of distribution.
